Senegalese-born US musician Akon is billed to perform in Harare in September in a one-off live concert, a private radio station reported here Monday. Radio VOP said the show, dubbed “It’s the Real Deal Concert” was being sponsored by the Zimbabwe National Arts Council, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association, Interfin Banking Corporation and Zimswag Productions.

The concert is scheduled to take place on September 4 at the Chinese built National Sports Stadium in Harare. Akon will join a growing list of musicians that have come to Zimbabwe for shows during the past two years such as R&B star Joe Thomas and reggae icon Sizzla.
