Akon launch new album: impress by india: After singing for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's movie Ra.One., R&B biggie Akon has now come up with a new album inspired by his India experience. After recording a Hindi song for the sci-fi film, the Lonely hitmaker says that his new album will have Indian influences,

Akon Perform in Kwara State (Live): On Saturday Oct 2, 2010, history was made, as the Kwara State Government brought the best in Nigerian and global entertainment live to Ilorin,  at the state’s official Nigeria@50 concert conceptualised and promoted by Outpost Investments and sponsored by the Kwara State Government with support from major co-sponsors like Dana Airlines, Dansa Juice, Aquadana Water and Power Horse.

Akon And T-Pain Connect Nelly On New Single: Nelly is back on the music scene and for his next single Move That Body, the rapper has teamed up with R&B royalty, Akon and T-Pain. The accompanying video is shaping up to be something special, with director Marc Klasfeld telling Rap-Up.

“The concept of the video is like Fight Club mixed with Bring It On. It’s this underground club. "There’s this crazy movie called Thirteen that it’s kind of based on, and in this, the girls are dance-fighting against one another and it’s this select environment. Akon -  Aadesh records with Akon, Wyclef Jean: International artistes rarely collaborate with Indian singers. And Aadesh Shrivastava has done just that by recording two songs with Akon and Wyclef Jean. The two bilingual, Hindi and English tracks, were recorded in February and March for Shrivastava’s album Sound Of Peace. He says, “The songs will be on my forthcoming album, which is out in December. Since I’m working under the aegis of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, it has taken me more than a year to record the album.”

The song recorded with Akon is called One for the world, lets get together, and the Wyclef track is titled Lets hope for sunshine. In 2006, Aadesh first worked as a co producer on Wyclef’s album Carnival Tunes, for the song Hollywood meets Bollywood. Incidentally this is also when Aadesh met Akon. Akon“I first met Akon when I was performing with Wyclef at LA’s House Of Blues, a nightclub. Akon liked my singing and immediately decided to work with me,” says Shrivastava.

Akon: Album released in NewYork 'Akonic': Akon has returned from a relatively quiet two years with "Akonic," a dance-heavy pop album currently slated for a Nov. 23 release on Konvict Muzik/Universal Motown. Songs from the Senegalese artist's fourth effort were previewed last night (Sept. 21) at a listening session at MPD in New York.

The seven songs played off the album mixed call-and-response hooks, heavy percussion and Auto-Tuned vocals, with "Give It To 'Em" tweaking Akon's singing until it emerges almost unrecognizable in the chorus. "Drop Down Low," "Hold You" and "Be Me" continued the uptempo dance vibe, with Akon playfully singing on the latter track, "Life's a bitch, and yes I love her/I wouldn't trade her for no other."

"Time is Money," featuring Black Mafia member Big Meech, offered a harder street-rap sound, while the synth-heavy "Nosy Neighbor" found Akon spying on a woman from his window as she is "getting naked." The set's highlight was club-ready first single "Angel," which combined soft, romantic verses with an infectious refrain. "I'm looking at an angel, and believe me what I say/She got the whole place glowing," Akon sings over a pulsating beat.
