Last night's Supafest concert was like an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore - muscle tees, matching tracksuits, mohawks, short skirts, tight tops and hair extensions were everywhere, accompanied with many fist pumps and booty shakes to the tunes of R&B stars like Jay Sean, Pitbull, Kelly Rowland and Akon.
There's always talk of these mainstream music festivals being destined for failure (rewind 10 years to Rumba) and there's no denying that people had the same worries about Supafest.
A mere few thousand fans turned up at Supafest at Melbourne's Showgrounds last night, no doubt a bit shy of what organisers had hoped for. Nonetheless, the fans that shelled out their $125 for a ticket were having the time of their life busting a move on the grass.
DJ Chris Sorbello opened the night, followed by the awesome rapper Eve who had the crowd dancing despite not having much success in Australia in years.
